License plate reader discussion

A public presentation and question-and-answer session led by the Mayor and Police Chief Mathis on the Town’s use of automated license plate readers, including the Flock cameras: how the technology works and how it differs from traffic cameras, how the police use it, where the cameras are and how the program is funded, how long the data is kept and who can search it. Most of the evening is set aside for residents’ questions and comments, in person or over Zoom; questions can also be submitted in advance through the form at erieco.gov/Oct8.
